March 2020 update

Jasmine gite now has new stairs to the upper floor with access to two new twin rooms and a bathroom so we invited some lovely guests to trial the new rooms. They gave us excellent positive feedback which gave us the confidence to advertise Jasmine gite for up to six people.

We are continually working on the garden around Jasmine getting a small flower garden established, trimming trees, laying mulch, and mowing the extensive lawn. The word “lawn” is used in a very loose sense because the molehills out there make it quite a challenge! The outside space is now starting to look more established.

Unfortunately due to the setback from COVID-19 we were unable to complete the games room in early 2020 but we hope to get onto that this coming Autumn. When it is finished it will feature a ping-pong table, table football, darts, and a small library with books and DVDs.

We are still getting guests from all over who are house hunting which gives us confidence that this is still a popular area to live.

During the Christmas period we had the chance to follow some of the local walking routes around La Loge, distances vary but the walks take you right into the heart of the countryside. It's so very peaceful and calming plus the variety of wildlife that you might see is amazing.

In other news we got six new chickens who have settled nicely into the spoilt lifestyle that our old chickens enjoy, they are now laying so we are enjoying lovely fresh eggs. We, unfortunately, lost our oldest girl 'tubby' to a buzzard attack which was pretty awful but that is all part of country life so we had to toughen up and move on.

This coming year we are looking forward to having both gites open for business, it's always a pleasure to see people enjoying La Loge and having a lovely peaceful time in this beautiful relaxing area of France.
